Webster Hardness Tester for Aluminum Alloys - Vertex Engineers

Webster Hardness Tester - Vertex

The Webster Hardness Tester is a lightweight, portable instrument designed for rapid, on-site hardness testing on soft materials. Operating with a simple clamp action, it allows users to read out hardness values directly, making it highly efficient for field inspections. This tool operates in strict accordance with the American Standard ASTM B647.

The instrument is available in specialized types to accommodate different materials. The W-20, W-20a, and W-20b models are tailored for aluminum alloys, offering a hardness range of 25–110 HRE or 58–131 HV. The W-B75 model is engineered for hardened brass and hardened aluminum alloy (20–100 HRB / 63–105 HRF), while the W-BB75 is designed for soft brass and pure copper (18–100 HRE). For harder sheets, the W-B92 model comfortably tests cold-rolled steel sheets and stainless steel across a 50–92 HRB range.

Each model adapts to specific specimen sizes, supporting material thicknesses from 0.4 mm up to 13 mm and inner diameters starting from $\ge$6 mm to $\ge$10 mm. The series features a standard testing range of 0~20HW with a precise accuracy of 0.5HW. Weighing just 0.5kg, this compact tester is built for ultimate portability with overall dimensions of L190 x W80 x T25mm.
